Our Story
Continuing the Legacy of Circus Place:
The Climb Circus Arts
The Circus Place in Hillsborough, NJ, was started in 2011 and began with a vision to inspire and educate children and adults through the art of circus. Founded by individuals passionate about circus arts, it quickly established itself as a prominent institution in the region. From its humble inception, the Circus Place embarked on a journey to provide a safe and nurturing environment for students to explore their creativity, develop physical skills, and boost their confidence. Over the years, it attracted a diverse group of participants from Hillsborough and the surrounding areas, becoming a community hub for circus enthusiasts of all ages. The Circus Place proudly taught and mentored hundreds of children and adults, each with their unique stories and aspirations. From the aerialists to the unicyclists to the acrobats and the jugglers, each and every student found their niche within the vibrant circus community. With its innovative programs and passionate, dedicated instructors, the Circus Place has had a profound impact on the lives of its students. Beyond physical training, it has instilled valuable life skills such as discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and self-expression. Many former students have gone on to pursue careers in the circus arts, joining prestigious troupes, tours and college pre-professional programs. The Circus Place's commitment to inclusivity and diversity allowed it to create a space where students can embrace their individuality and find acceptance and support within the circus family. The sense of belonging fostered by the Circus Place has had a transformative effect on countless individuals, instilling a sense of empowerment and fostering lifelong friendships.
It is this incredible legacy that has forged the path onward and upward for The Climb Circus Arts.
We have reached tremendous heights in the past two years and are thrilled to have finally found a home for the time being at !MPACT Training in Hillsborough, NJ. In addition to running classes since October of 2024, we are proud to be working in collaboration with the Waldorf School of Princeton for the third summer this year to bring Circus to a broader community of students through our Summer Camp programming.
There is no magic like that of circus and we will continue in our efforts to share that magic with as many students as possible. The Climb will carry on the tradition of circus and community that made Circus Place so special, and we are excited to build this school together with your continued support.
